Terms of Service

Last updated: February 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Seafly’s website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Seafly (“Seafly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, signing in, connecting a third-party account (including Google), subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

1) What Seafly does

Seafly helps you turn long-form content (for example: newsletters, articles, podcasts, and long-form videos) into trusted summaries and repurposed drafts (for example: LinkedIn posts, X threads, newsletter drafts, and captions). We emphasize faithful, source-grounded output and judgment over volume.

2) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3) Accounts, authentication, and security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any connected accounts.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, unless caused by our security failure.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that appear compromised or violate these Terms.

4) Subscriptions, trials, and payments (if applicable)

If the Service offers paid plans, the following applies:

  • Billing: Fees, billing frequency, and plan features will be shown at checkout.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel anytime; access continues through the billing period.
  • Refunds: Unless required by law, payments are non-refundable.
  • Price changes: We may change pricing with notice; changes apply to the next billing cycle.

(If you’re pre-revenue, keep this section but mark it “Reserved for future paid plans.”)

5) Your content, inputs, and outputs

5.1 Your Inputs

Inputs” include any content you provide or connect to the Service—such as links, transcripts, text, prompts, files, and connected account data (including Gmail or Google Drive content, if you explicitly connect those services).

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the rights to use the Inputs and to authorize Seafly to process them.
  • Your Inputs do not violate applicable law or third-party rights.

5.2 Outputs

Outputs” are generated drafts, summaries, and other content produced by the Service from your Inputs.

You understand and agree:

  • Outputs may contain errors, omissions, or unintended phrasing.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and editing Outputs before publishing or relying on them.
  • Seafly does not guarantee that Outputs are accurate, complete, non-infringing, or fit for a particular purpose.

5.3 Ownership

As between you and Seafly:

  • You retain your rights in your Inputs.
  • Subject to these Terms, you own the Outputs generated for you from your Inputs.

5.4 Our right to operate the Service

You grant Seafly a limited license to host, process, and transmit your Inputs and Outputs only to provide, maintain, and improve the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6) Trust features and “source grounding” are not guarantees

We may provide features such as:

  • source snippets
  • citation-style mapping
  • highlighting which parts of the source support an output

These features are meant to help you evaluate content, but they do not guarantee correctness or eliminate the need for human review.

7) Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • violate any law or regulation
  • infringe intellectual property or privacy rights
  • upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service
  • scrape, reverse engineer, or probe the Service for vulnerabilities
  • generate or distribute spam or deceptive content
  • impersonate others or misrepresent outputs as human-written when that representation is legally required
  • use the Service for high-stakes decisions (medical, legal, financial, employment, or safety-critical) without qualified professional review

We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.

The Service may integrate with third-party services (e.g., Google OAuth, YouTube, podcast hosts, website scraping, analytics providers). Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and policies.

If you connect a Google account, our handling of Google data is described in the Privacy Policy, including our commitment to Google’s “Limited Use” requirements.

9) Availability, changes, and discontinuation

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will try to provide reasonable notice for material changes.

10) Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • you violate these Terms
  • your use creates risk or legal exposure for Seafly or others
  • required by law or to protect the Service

Termination does not limit any rights we may have to pursue legal remedies.

11) Data deletion and account deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. Some limited data may be retained if required for security, legal, or compliance purposes.

12) Intellectual property

The Service, including our software, design, templates, and branding, is owned by Seafly and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service except as allowed by these Terms.

13) Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” SEAFY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

14) Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEAFY WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

IN ALL CASES, SEAFY’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SEAFY IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID ANYTHING).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in that case, these limits apply to the greatest extent permitted.

15) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Seafly from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:

  • your Inputs
  • your use of Outputs
  • your violation of these Terms or applicable law

16) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, excluding conflict of laws rules. Any disputes will be brought in the courts located in San Francisco, California, USA, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

17) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, if changes are material, provide additional notice (for example, in-app).

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
